In te domine, speravi. (In thee, o Lord, do I put my trust)

    Aloysius Stepinac

There is not much I can say about this, it’s self-explanatory. This is a great motto to live by, but it’s most likely the hardest one to stick to. It’s in our nature to sometimes despair during hard times, but this quote encourages us to put our trust in the Lord, especially in those difficult situations.

Yesterday I talked to a priest after confession and asked for advice on how to overcome despair. He affirmed that I am going in the right direction by trying to entrust my life to God and told me about this quote and told me to say it often and say it loud.

Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.

    Theodore Roosevelt

Do not despair if you think you lack something of this world, as it only matters that we do not lack a relationship with God. Thank God every day for everything that happened and for him being by your side all the time, no matter what happened – good or bad.

With time, God will help you achieve great things, although they might not be the exact things you think you want. Often, he provides us with something better, but we fail to see it because we are fixated on what we think we should get.

So as the quote says, do what you can, with what you have, and where you are and God will guide you to something better. Just remember to be open-minded as to what God will bring you, accept it, it will make sense in the end.

We must defend the truth, even if we are reduced to just twelve again.

    Saint John Paul II

This is exactly why I started this page, to speak up even if nobody agrees with me. I don’t think we should stay silent when faced with the atrocities of the world around us, and I will speak up even when most are silent. Before starting this page I used to raise my voice by commenting on IG reels and Reddit posts, which I still do but much less, but that way was quite chaotic and unorganized. This way I hope to reach more people in the long run.

Truth can often alienate you from other people, it will filter some people out of your life. You can easily have a huge number of friends if you pretend to be 10 different persons depending on who are you with. That is not desirable however, and can cause a lot of anxiety as you constantly feel the need to please other people’s beliefs and opinions. Telling the truth will cause you to “suffer” in short term as you might lose some people who you considered to be friends, but it will bring you freedom and easier relationships in the long run, and that is very much worth it.

Speak the truth, no matter the cost, the people who are truly right for you will not leave you over that but will actually respect it.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (…) This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.

    John 3:16,19-20

When I don’t know what quote to use for my Daily Quote page, I often read the Bible. So far I have always found something inspiring to write about within the first page or two. The same thing happened today.

I really love these verses because they practically read my mind. Months ago I was thinking about why some people don’t believe in God or his Word when its existence is proven on multiple accounts, or to say at least it is strongly plausible that He exists. Then when you start searching from at least the mindset that He is possible or plausible you will surely find Him. From that point onward, His existence will go from “plausible” to “certain”.

The reason I mentioned this verse read my mind is because I came to the same conclusion even though I never heard this verse up until now. I realized that people are afraid of the possibility of God’s existence because as the verse says all of the evil deeds they did will be exposed. Some people have convinced themselves that what they are doing is okay and finding out that it is not okay and that they will be judged is unacceptable.

The topic that got me to this conclusion was abortion – I was shocked and couldn’t understand how people don’t realize that that’s a living being, a human developing, not just some part of the woman’s body. Then we realized (my wife and I were discussing it and she helped me reach this conclusion) that they don’t want to believe that it’s a human being because they couldn’t live with what they did, or encouraged others to do. It’s a psychological defense mechanism because we all know how hard is to deal with the fact that you killed someone, now imagine dealing with the fact that you killed an innocent child, not to mention YOUR child.

They have to lie to themselves, otherwise they would collapse mentally, as some people did that later realized what they did. I remember now one ex-abortionist that I watched speak on YouTube. His name is Dr. Anthony Levatino. During his career, he conducted over 1200 abortions, he realized what he was doing a day after his young daughter died in a car accident. He said that he believes in God and hopes to one day see his daughter when he dies, but what scares him tremendously is that the day he sees his daughter he will also see the 1200 babies he killed.

He is having a hard time dealing with this fact and it wasn’t even his babies, imagine how it must be for the people who abort their own babies. No wonder they feel the need to separate from God, they are afraid of their actions and are running from them. I’m not saying what they did was right or that they should be left to live in their delusion, we definitely must help them meet God again so that their souls get a chance to be saved. Our time is running out.

But abortion is just one of the examples, they are examples of rejecting God or twisting His teaching to fit our agenda all around us. People just don’t like being held responsible for their actions and don’t want their actions to have any consequences, that’s why those people always mock us believers saying that we are blindly following “some guy with the beard in the sky” and that our God is using us and controlling us. He is not controlling us, and for all of us who have been there, we know the joy in living by His teachings. Let’s try to share that joy with others, let us be an example for others, maybe that will help them meet God again.

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

    James 4:7

If we quit the path of the world and resist the devil, he will run away from us. We must resist, though, and that’s easier said than done. Resistance requires us to actively pull away. It demands we continually counter his lies by telling ourselves the truth about our God’s goodness, love, and power.

To this, I would also add that we shouldn’t converse with the Devil, don’t try to argue with him, do not give him attention. The Devil is more powerful than we are, but he is not more powerful than God. That is why we should turn to God for protection, but must not test the Devil just because we have God’s protection. To do so we would be taking advantage of God’s grace.

Take this for example, you have a herd of sheep, they are safe with you from wolves lurking in the forests, but for some reason, these sheep keep going into the forest instead of staying in open fields where there’s plenty of nice grass to eat and no wolf can sneak up unnoticed. Grass in the forest cannot be better than the one on the open fields, therefore sheep have no business going into the forest.

We are the sheep, and God is our shepherd. So let’s help God help us, and not go explore dangerous places.
